Acupuncture is part of a medical system that originated in China, it's history has been dated back some 3000 years or more.  Acupuncture has developed over the years but still retains much of what originated in China all those years ago. 

The therapist may choose acupuncture as a method of treatment when a patient presents with any number of problems, many of which you may consider going to your doctor for.. After listening to the patients concern a diagnosis will be made on the basis of the individual's condition, a treatment plan will be determined which always looks to treat the root cause of the problem and any other issues you may present with.

Acupuncture treatment is about vital energy (qi) The theory states that when there is a disturbance or blockage in the energy this leads to disharmony and sickness. Inserting the needles into specific points in the body frees the energy and allows it to run smoothly, this may enhance your wellbeing and give you more energy.

Insertion of the needles into the acupuncture points causes the body to release certain hormones known to have a calming effect and reduce pain, Many people comment on how they feel more relaxed after a treatment, not only will you feel calmer your ability to cope may be enhanced with treatment.

Fight off the bugs:

By promoting the flow of energy and enhancing our ability to cope in general the body's immune system is able to do it's job more efficiently.
